NFTs & The Music Industry

NFT - Headphones Image

So, I have been hearing about NFTs recently from one of my media and game developer friends named Greg over at Superframe Media and I had no idea what he was talking about. A non-fungible, what?! So, how do you take those?

It sounds something related to Bitcoin but for authenticity of a digital product…? Which is sort of what it is, I think? I really still have very little idea. But what I’m thinking is some kind of block-chain enabled technology to authenticate and certify something…ownership? Original or limited edition artwork?

The more I think about it, it does seem like it could have some seriously far-reaching possibilities. Especially when paired with computing power that can handle that stuff…modern ideas like quantum computing or artificial intelligence would undoubtedly have no issues tracking or otherwise managing such forms of long-form encrypted data sets.

Or all of this is potentially hogwash and I’m speaking out of my nethers.

Nonetheless, I came across a video on YouTube and this guy (featured below) seems to know what he’s talking about, at least much moreso than I do at this point. So I figured I’d post it up here for posterity!

Choos!
