MYSTIK

Mystik (aka Peter Loomis) has been producing music since the early days of 2000. After turntables and a mixer, he bought his first outboard drum machine, the Korg ER-1 while in NYC, even before his arrival to SF in 2000.

Ever since then, Mystik has been actively producing music with both computer DAW and outboard systems including digital and analog synths, drum machines, groove boxes, samplers and more fun stuff.

THE LOOMII

Once on the West Coast, he started practicing regularly with his brother, jamming at first but eventually forming a band called The Loomii and their jams became tracks which became live mixes and sets.

Back in the day, Peter took the BART over to West Oakland and walked to Dave’s warehouse on 32nd and Peralta to jam on Dave’s gear. While Dave was at work, Peter would make mix tapes of song ideas and longer live mixes using a BOSS Dr Groove Drum Machine and Dave’s early synth/sequencers like the Yamaha RM1X (which would later eventually move over into Mystik’s studio-woohoo! :)).

Once they had their first live show scheduled at San Francisco’s 111 Minna Gallery, it was time to write a set. So Peter (Mystik) and Dave (Luminate) started writing their own songs for the set. And the rest is history…
