The Loomii is an ambient, downtempo, minimal and experimental studio recording and live performance audio project of musician brothers Peter and Dave Loomis.
Forming when Mystik moved west to San Francisco in 2000 and started living close to Dave who was in Oakland then, The Loomii started playing live PA’s at various events and music festivals around the West Coast.
The duo has developed incredible synergy, playing off of each other as they jam and improvise live song arrangements with various groove boxes, synths and sequencers. Their first show was in April 2003 at 111 Minna in San Francisco. They also played several impromptu shows in the East Bay at Dave’s warehouse in West Oakland.
After a long stint performing live and developing their sound, releasing singles along the way with Keyframe and Geomagnetic Recordings, the two decided to rebrand as Mystik Luminate for their debut, full length album, released in 2010.
